Have you have become unable to take care of you dog or cat, and do you want to be sure your pet is cared for, trained and rehomed in a proper manner? Then please feel free to contact us. We specialize in dogs and cats with extreme behavior problems; animals that cannot be placed in other shelters because of problematic behavior. Of course we also take in less extreme cases. When you are considering rehoming your pet, you can always contact us for advice. It is not always necessary to rehome your pet: there often are other possibilities that can be considered to solve your pet's problem behavior. Please contact us for more information or inquiries on how we can help you.

If you are certain that you cannot take care of your pet anymore, your pet can be brought to our shelter if we have available space. Dogs with extreme behavioral issues have to go through a rehabilitation trajectory before they can be rehomed. All of our dogs get a basic training before they are put up for adoption.
Since we want spend sufficient time to train and rehabilitate each dog, it is possible that we cannot immediately accept your dog, but that he/she needs to be placed on our waiting list. We never euthanise any animal because they have been with us for too long. When an animal is adoptable, he/she will stay with us until we have found a home, no matter how long it takes. Because of this reason, it hard for us to predict when a spot will become available for your pet when he/she is on the waiting list.

Adopting a Dog

If you're interested in adopting one of our animals, please give us a call to make an appointment. Our adoption procedure for dogs is very strict, and happens according to the following steps:

  1. An introductory meeting will be scheduled, so that we can evaluate which dog(s) could match your family. Based on this meeting, we will introduce you to suitable dogs one by one. It is never allowed to walk alongside the kennels, due to the welfare and calmness of our dogs.
  2. When there's a connection, a second meeting can be planned during we take a dog for a walk together, so we can teach you how to calmly walk the dog without pulling, jumping or other turmoil on the leash, making the walk a nice experience for both you and the dog.
  3. Next, we plan a home visit (together with the dog you are planning to adopt), to assess the home situation and to give you tips.
  4. You will get a free training, to prepare you for anything before finalizing the adoption.

We will give you all necessary tips and tools to start a pleasant cooperation with your dog, and even after adoption you can always count on our help, wherever it is needed.

We place our dogs worldwide, a good home is more important for us than a home nearby. So don't hesitate to contact us in case you don't live in The Netherlands.

Adopting a Cat

Cats in our shelter will always be properly socialized, toilet trained and guided in their behavior where needed. When you are interested in one of our cats, you can e-mail us to make an appointment. We can tell you all about the characters of our cats, en evaluate together what cat would match your situation best. We give you additional information on what to look out for after the adoption, and you can always count on our help during the first weeks after adoption. A couple of weeks after adoption, we always plan a house visit.
